Parole agents have the right to search the premises, and the interior of the house (with very few exceptions) at any time, for any (or no) reason. It’s part of the price you pay for being on parole, or having a parolee living in your house.

All they have to do is convince a parole officer a search is a good idea. Ought to be way easier than convincing a judge, since they don’t even need probable cause.

This is a really good point. Many of those same societies also recognized marriage by abduction, and in some places (if you go back to the early medieval period) polygamy.
