I find it to be a pity, I must say. I would be genuinely interested in reading thoughtful, intelligent statements from all sides of this issue. There have certainly been a lot of reasonable comments in this thread, but with the exception of Bricker, almost all I’ve seen from the pro-life corner has been contempt, disparagement, sneering, and tantrums. It’s a shame, and a wasted opportunity.

Yeah, we could talk about how she was really rude to a poor fellow who posted he couldn’t tell if he was circumcised or not even after doing some google searches. Some medical folks posted that is actually can be ambiguous, but she just tried to make him look foolish that he couldn’t tell. Felt bad for the guy.

Interestingly, I know several very observant people, one of them a practicing Protestant pastor with a PhD in theology, who strongly support the right for women to choose. I think this poll is more recent, though the formatting on my screen doesn’t allow me to see the date in much detail.
What’s really interesting (but I guess shouldn’t be surprising) is that, according to this poll, it looks like people are more likely to let their party affiliation sway their thoughts on abortion rather than actual religion. It’s kind of a shame - if you believe that God’s opinion is more important than a person’s, you would think that that would inform people’s votes more than party lines. Instead, it seems like people treat pundits like Jesus.
