Yes, thank you. No pro-lifer I know has anything good to say about the guy who killed Tiller–they can understand the anger but that’s it.
I guess we still need more information to see if this was related to the issue, but the victim went out every morning in defense of what he saw as innocent life. How many more children would have gone to the school across the street if they’d been allowed to live?
The cops seem to be saying it was related to the manner of the protest. Eg, the murderer was offended by the dead man holding up dismembered body part pictures. And driving around with a truck with the body part pictures on the side. Clearly, I don’t agree with the murder, but I confess I find that tactic to be similar to the ‘I’m not touching you’ dance.
Sounds to me like a guy with a habit a provoking people managed to provoke a murderous loony and got his name added to the killing spree list. It could’ve been some guy cutting the gunman off in traffic instead. But no, I can’t work up much sympathy; it’s like hearing that a KKK member who made a habit of parading in full costume getting shot by the same loony. Not something we want to encourage and not the right solution to such people, but I can’t really get much sympathy worked up either.
As for the people who are trying to equate the pro-birth and pro-choice sides in this; the fact that the pro-birthers publish death lists of people they want killed puts matters on a different basis all by itself. The anti-abortion killers aren’t lone lunatics like this guy, they are encouraged and even shieldedby the so-called pro-lifers.
