I was at the dentist recently, but forgot to ask her this question.
When I floss, I have this one gum that feels really odd when I floss it. All the others feel the same, but this one feels “uncomfortable” when I floss it, almost like it is tender. Not painful at all, just quite obviously different than the others, a stark contrast. The dentist did a thorough check-up and did not mention anything good or bad about the gums around this tooth. The tooth looks fine and has all the signs of a healthy gum around it (except read below). It is fairly tight around the tooth compared to the others, though.
However, it is worth noting that all four of my teeth on the curved portion of the front of the jaw, bottom and top, have a receded gum on the anterior side for some reason. I proposed that it was maybe from brushing those areas harder, and she accepted that as a possibility. Well, this tooth is one of those receded gum ones, although the other receded gums do not have this feeling when I floss.
Question is, what could explain this obviously weird feeling? This surely is not normal… If I left any vital details out, let me know.
Thanks.
