So no cite. Unsurprising.
Key quote:
"It’s done for one reason and one reason only,” Greer told the Palm Beach Post, before saying that Republicans essentially believed, “we’ve got to cut down on early voting because early voting is not good for us.”
“The next month, Georgia House Speaker David Ralston (R) said the expanded mail balloting in his state “will be extremely devastating to Republicans and conservatives.””
And
“Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said much the same on Fox on Nov. 30: “If we accept this universal mail-out balloting to people who didn’t even request ballots, I don’t think Republicans will ever win another national election again.””
That’s an OPINION piece.
iiandyiiii says he “thinks” something and you ask for a cite to prove that’s his thought?!
I provided multiple quotes showing that multiple Republicans in office believe they need to make voting harder in order to win elections.
I made a claim about the beliefs of Republicans in office, and supported that claim with multiple quotes from Republican officials.
See, here’s the rub. I’m really not interested in what he thinks. Factual answers, on a board allegedly dedicated to fighting ignorance, are better.
And I challenge you to find any evidence where this happened enough to even come close to changing the results of an election, never mind actually doing so. There has been not one iota of this reported, not for the presidential election, not for any senatorial election, not for any house election, no governorship, hell, not even any of the myriad state legislative body elections out there.
It happened it a local county election, as I’ve said.
How many voters and what was the final count and margin?
I provided several quotes from Republican officials. It’s a fact that multiple Republicans said these things that supported by assertion. You asked for a cite and I provided it, facts included.
As you said but still no cite. Where?
Again, I’m not telling Dopers (did I get that right) where I live. It’s local.
Then it’s worthless as a reference or support for an argument.
As opposed to my supporting my argument with a cite that showed several Republican officials quoted as saying what I asserted they believed.
In other words, “My dad works for Nintendo and has a copy of Super Mario 4 but I can’t show you or he’ll lose his job.”
“I got a girlfriend but she lives in Canada. I won’t tell you where because you’ll just steal her.”
Trust me, hunting you down is not worth the trouble.
That wasn’t a cite. It was a link to an opinion piece.
That quoted several prominent Republicans who stated that their beliefs are driving their actual legislative decisions.
Lawyer : Objection, your honor! Hearsay!
Judge : How is that hearsay?
Lawyer : I heard him say it!
