I’m glad I’m not the only one who heard about the sling shots. Do you mind telling us where you heard about the sling shot allegations?

The New York Post originally reported this allegation. Then they reported the opposite: “Meanwhile, police denied that two brothers injured in the tiger attack, which killed 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr., had slingshots with them.”

Exactly right. And the zoo director’s self-contradictions on the height of the barriers only makes this worse. Zoo management either didn’t know exactly how high their walls were, or knew they were inadequate and didn’t do anything about it.
The kids were undoubtedly assholes. They deserved to get thrown out of the zoo. They may have deserved a hefty fine or a few hours in jail. They DIDN’T deserve to get mauled by a vicious predator.

Did you not see my comments in post #15? If you want to discuss the zoo’s actions, please take it to another thread. The question at issue here concerns animal behavior, not the behavior of zoo management.

The latest in this bizarre story:
Survivors made pact of silence
Curiouser and curiouser. :dubious:

I know this is a bit of a tangent, but the linked article says:
Can someone please explain why the city attorney can’t get a search warrant to get into the car or look at any messages on the phone? It seems like a no-brainer to me.
I believe the factual question in the OP has been answered. Other aspects of the case should be addressed in other forums.
