Whoa, I just had a blinding flash of inspiration about the ignore list!
First of all, I have been reading some of the discussions about new pit rules, and do want to mention that I support the “don’t imply that you are putting someone on the ignore list” rule, for all of the obvious reasons.
However, and I have no idea if this is possible, what if just under the post count, there was a “how many ignore lists you are on count”? Sort of a reliability rating, or Jerk Points ™ count (the less the better).
How about because as I stated in the pit rules thread, if I were on someone’s ignore list, I would want to KNOW about it so I could see if I could resolve it. So if I KNEW I was on someone’s ignore list, I would agonize over who it was, and what I had said or done, and if I weren’t ME, I would email the mods and ask them who it was, which of course they couldn’t tell me (which is why I personally wouldn’t email them and ask them) and …You see where I am going here?
I can see nothing good that could come out of this.
just in case anyone was wondering, I don’t think it’d be a good idea for our names, addresses, birthdates and social security numbers to be given out, either.
How about a “how many people you are ignoring” count? Just so we know whom to picture with their fingers in their ears going “La la la la la la I can’t HEEEAR you!”
The OP reminds me of the thing about how cars should be equipped with paint shooters that you could use on rude drivers, so that a cop could pull over any car that was sufficiently splattered.
Scotti, I can’t imagine anyone wanting to ignore you. I’m also pretty sure that I CAN’T find out who is on anyone’s ignore list. Let me just check for a minute…I don’t see any way of finding it out. It’s possible that Jerry could find out, but he really has better things to do.
