In what surely must be a clash of cultures, Walmart sells absinthe spoons.
Who wrote the description of the item? A Nigerian prince?
More precisely, it’s available from a Marketplace seller on Walmart’s website. Many things you would not expect to find in your local Walmart store are available from such Marketplace sellers.
I had not read the description. I would love to see that Czech method demonstrated.
“Gypsy” kinda concerned me.
The description is obviously not by a native English speaker.
But absinthe spoons are absolutely a thing. And they’re used pretty much as illustrated: you pour liquid (absinthe or water, I cannot remember which) over a sugar cube placed on the absinthe spoon, which rests on top of the glass. This makes your drink.
Trust me, I know spoons. Check my username.
Dripped and water.
There are home made Absinthe like recipes usually using vodka, but sometimes everclear/water, and most Absinthe bottles I have seen come with the spoon, so I would think this is more for the homemade stuff, though it may also be used to complete a bar set.
You can also just use a fork instead if a special spoon.
Peasant. My wife can eat anything with chopsticks, even soft serve ice cream (I have videos). She would probably lay two sticks across the glass and balance the sugar cube on it. A chunk of Thai raw brown sugar, of course. good stuff.
From above the water drip irrigation with ice candy.
I can sort of understand how the translator came up with that, but it’s still hilarious.
I actually don’t drink my absinthe with a spoon and sugar. I mostly use it in sazeracs. It’s pricey, but the absinthes from Jade Liqueurs is based on original recipes and made the traditional way. It’s great stuff.
My current favorite chopsticks, which I use daily, are titanium. They’d work great!
Is it true that absinthe makes the cardiac muscle enamored in some way?
Stainless steel? Gad, how gauche. Mine is sterling silver.
Really? I have ivory chopsticks and a matching rest, but I feel ostentatious using them.
ETA: I have 25 or so pairs of chopsticks, but only really use 3 or 4.
I lied. It’s silver plate.
That’s golden.
So, none of you have an absinth colander?
Bamboo chopsticks are the best as the slight roughness grips things better then ivory, plastic or silver. I can easily pick up single grains of rice.
What, like with two hands?
