It is quite sad to read about such a troubled family, though. I certainly agree with the comments in the article that “hardwiring” plays a role in who we are. I’m not a psychologist, but a lot of the dysfunctional behavior in that article seems to suggest borderline personality disorder, which is believed to have a genetic component.
