ACA/Obamacare is repealed tomorrow. What happens to you?

It would benefit me. My company has gradually been making our health care benefits worse in order to avoid the potential “Cadillac” tax (I know it has been deferred, but that doesn’t effect the downgrading of the health plans available to me). We used to offer employee-priced health plans to retirees of our company, now they have much worse plans that are more expensive.

If it was repealed, my company would likely once again offer excellent health care benefits to all employees and retirees.

I believe that to be incredibly optimistic. Why does anyone think that repealing ACA will mean that insurance plans from 6 or more years ago will suddenly reappear? Among other things, no one is talking about restoring the hospital and doctor payments that were cut to fund ACA.
Perhaps over time cheaper policies will be created, but I am not holding my breath.

As for saving $ by cutting the mandates built in to ACA, that was tried in Rhode Island. They adopted a version of RommneyCare to keep up with their neighbor. Dropping the mandates resulted in a 10-15% reduction in premiums in the short term. And they lost the benefits from those mandates.

I’d lose my insurance and probably try to move to Chile since it is one of the few places were immigration is fairly doable and I can bring my small airplane with me. I had to to the same thing in 2002 (I moved to the Czech Republic) when I became self employed but I didn’t have my plane then so there were more options.
