I’m just wondering if anyone knows of a way to access newsgroup accounts via the web. When I’m out at the library, I wish I could not only read but download from newsgroups… anyone know of a way? I mean… logging into my verizon newsgroup account from a remote computer – to clarify. 
wish the library had a newsgroup reader/downloader. 
But I’m hoping someone perhaps knows of a java or php site or something.
Have you looked at Google Groups? There are also many pay providers with a web interface.
I am pretty sure whatever default email program you have can download from newsgroups, though they don’t make very good newsreaders. If your library has disabled it then I dunno.
I assume that’s what you mean by “downloading”?
