"ACORN did absolutely nothing wrong" no longer true

Careful, puppy. Youth and skill is no match for age and treachery.

I used to think that too, until the overwhelming preponderance of evidence to the contrary convinced me.

So what took you so long?

Hey, when does Diebold go to trial again? And there was that one thing, Hal-something, I dimly remember them getting a wee bit of press waaaaay back in the day…

I am not condoning illegal behavior by any organization. Extremists and unethical persons exist in any organization. They must be routed out with due diligence and the organizations that harbored them must be accountable for actions taken by the people who were under their employ.

I am merely pointing out that getting huffy about vote fraud is more effective if you are also eager to crack down on voting machines that registered three times more votes than registered voters in certain key swing counties. Just sayin’. If you care about it on the other guy’s side, you have to care about it on your own too, or you are only desensitizing people to serious offenses – including but not limited to this one.

Try to remember that.

ACORN did not commit any serious offenses. ZERO fraudulent votes were cast because of ACORN. ZERO elections were undermined by their efforts. A sharp contrast to Diebold and the former Ohio Secretary of State.

BobLibDem, I’m not convinced totally of that. The ties between the former ACORN and the Working Families Party in New York and other states were pretty close - former ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis is a founding co-chair of the WFP. This is in keeping with ACORN’s modus over the years to have numerous affiliates.

The WFP primary in Troy, NY in 2009 did feature fraudulent votes and stolen identities - two local Democratic election officials were just indicted:

Link.

I don’t know where this is going to go, or the extent to which the WFP cooperated with the indicted Democrats or were victimized by them. But I certainly won’t be making blanket statements about ACORN or its affiliates at this point.

Why stop now?

No. Please stop.

Everyone.

Well, he does have the advantage of favoring a political party whose utter purity is beyond question.
