I know of a group of 20 kids (around 3 to 8 years old, boys and girls) and their moms looking for an activity in the north or nothwest suburbs.
The ideal location would be somewhere in the vicinity of Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, Wilmette or points in between. Low cost is helpful, too. The timing would be next week.
We have already done a fire department tour, a police station tour, Long Grove Confectionery, local nature preserves, the beach, the Botanic Gardens (Glencoe), and the Grove in Glenview.
Jelly Belly in Wisconsin is too far. A train ride was rejected by the group.
Any suggestions?
We took my son to the Kohl Children’s museum last year in Glenview. An 8 year-old might be bored by it but it was great for the pre-school crowd.
Well, Hampshire beat me to Kohl, so I’ll just have to second it. The best weekend day is early Sunday (they open at 10)–it’s really crowded on Saturday.
Also, Legoland in Schaumburg looks cool (I haven’t been), but may be too pricey (I think it’s $18 per kid).
You could also try Wagner Farm.
You could try Lamb’s Farm up in Libertyville, I think, although that may be a bit of a drive.
Medieval Times in Schaumburg? Might be a bit spendy for you, but it looks fun enough to keep a bunch of kids entertained.
Thanks for all of the great suggestions! The group has figured out what they are going to do, so they are all set.
