Actors always associated with two separate roles

I went away mid-reply, so didn’t see this.

Richard Boone.

Hec Ramsey
The evil Cicero Grimes in Hombre
Paladin in Have Gun, Will Travel

Ted Knight: Ted Baxter & Henry Rush

I think you can bump the Newsies fan number up to four, maybe even five! One of my friends and I love it, and the soundtrack was definitely car music for us when we were in the same state.

Majel Barret for me is Chapel and Lwaxana Troi, with the computer a distant third. Sure, she’s the computer more often than she’s Troi, but Lwaxana is a pretty memorable role!

Not to mention Count Dooku. Oh wait, I did just mention him. Oh well. Anyway, Count Dooku.

Gene Barry as Bat Masterson or Amos Burke

I’m not going to go back and see if anyone’s mentioned these yet, thread’s too long, but here are some I’ve thought of

Zachary Quinto as Sylar from Heroes and the new Spock

Tony Shaloub as Antonio on Wings and Monk

Sarah Chalke as Becky 2 on Roseanne and Eliot on Scrubs

Kelsey Grammer as Frasier and Sideshow Bob

Nathan Fillion as Mal Reynolds from Firefly and Castle

Katey Sagal as Peggy Bundy and Turonga Leela from Futurama

Keanu Reeves - Ted from** Bill & Ted’s** and Neo from The Matrix.

And Stella on “How I Met Your Mother”

My freaking word. No mention of Jerry Stiller as Frank Costanza and Arthur Spooner?

I’ve always thought they were the same guy. I would love to do a series “My Two Families” where the travelling salesman tries to juggle his two families. Starring (who else?) Ben Stiller.

I don’t see that as something she’s always associated with, though. And if it was, that would make it 3, and the topic calls for just 2.

William Daniels is an interesting case because he’s known for separate roles but which ones depend largely on the person’s age and tastes.

To me he’s known for John Adams in 1776 and Dr. Craig in St. Elsewhere

To non-musical fans/fantasy fans he’s known as Dr. Craig and as the voice of Kitt on Knight Rider (roles he played simultaneously).

To a younger than me crowd he’s the voice of Kitt and he’s Mr. Feeney from Boy Meets World

Interestingly every single character was the exact same.

Now there’s a generation coming up who don’t know him at all.

You can buy a GPS with his voice, incidentally. Don’t recall if it’s a very good one though.

I want to say Matthew Broderick.

Ferris gets the Nod, but what is the other… his stint in Wargames?

For Matthew Broderick: adult voice of Simba? Leo Bloom in The Producers?

A few to add…

from the New Zealand perspective, Temura Morrison will always be remembered as
a) Dr. Heke (Shortland Street)
b) Jake the Muss (Once Were Warriors)

For the tranistion from TV to stage, how about Michael Crawford?
a) Frank Spencer from Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em
b) Phantom from well, Phantom of the Opera

Another Brit - how about Jason Alexander?
a) Granville from Open All Hours
b) Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses

Although I recall him best as John Adams in 1776 (not to mention in one of those John Jakes novels adapted for TV, for which he also played cousin Sam Adams. I saw him on Broadway as John Adams), I saw him even earlier on TV as Carter Nash in the superhero parody Captain Nice.

Daniels had the entire Adams family sewn up – he played John Adams twice, Sam Adams, and even John Quincy Adams

Tom Hulce as Pinto from Animal House and Mozart from Amadeus.

John Astin as Gomez Addams and Buddy from Night Court.

In the US (and other but not all English-speaking countries), sure. In countries where Boston Legal got prime time and Star Trek got relegated to 3am, not so much.

Dude, you forgot Conan. You’re lucky Crom doesn’t generally bother with all that smiting stuff…
