I recently saw a movie with Rock Hudson in it, the first time in many years I’d seen him. The instant he appeared on set I thought that it was a shame he lived before the superhero movie era. He was 6’5" and 215 pounds, bigger than Chris Hemsworth and equal to Liam Hemsworth.* He was a slab of granite and his physical presence was far bigger than theirs.
Heights and weights given on the Internet are always dubious.
That was his billed height. He was closer to 6 ’ 10" but even at that height he was massive. There are some pictures with him and Arnold S and he dwarfs him
John Matuszak, whose best known acting role was probably Sloth in The Goonies, was a former NFL defensive lineman (#72 in white here). In his playing days, he was listed as 6’8" and 280 pounds.
I was going to mention him. Saw him recently on an episode of “The Jack Benny Show”. The opening scene had them on stage in suits talking. Benny in an earlier show (renewing his driver license) said he was 5’11" and 148 pounds. Walker just towered over Benny and, more so, had massively broad shoulders. John Wayne was 6’4" and I assume put on weight as he got older. Mike Mazurki was a 6’5" former professional wrestler with a hundred film roles, ranging from “Murder, My Sweet” to the Rod Stewart video for “Infatuation”.
If you want athlete with a brief acting job, Wilt Chamberlain was 7’1" and eventually around 300 pounds but all accounts have him as extremely strong. Of course he costarred with Ah-nold in “Conan the Destroyer”.
Steve Reeves in those wonderful cheesy “Hercules” movies.
