Actors you couldn't help but fall in love with just a little

61 year old male speaking:

Frances McDormand.

The first person that comes to mind is Linda Cardellini. She was just cute as a button in Freaks and Geeks and later on ER.

If I wanted to mention all the actresses I lust after the OP would be way too long. Just assume the answer is “most”.

I recently dvr’d Elizabeth (the one with Cate Blanchette) for a first viewing and I keep watching it over and over for the five minutes onscreen of Fanny Ardant.

I’ve had it bad for Anthony Stewart Head for a while. I know that he’s got three and a half decades on me, but the man can sing! And he’s British, and he has these little wrinkles around his eyes that are fecking adorable. He seems like he’d be really cool and open-minded, too; he played Frank n Furter in a number of RHPS productions.

And Nancy Allen

Liev Schrieber [sp?] I rented Kate & Leopold in order to ogle at Hugh Jackman wearing jodhpurs, and fell in lurve with the other guy.

(I’m a gurl btw)

as an adult:
Daniel Day-Lewis
Ralph Fiennes
Viggo Mortensen
not love but certainly squee for Spike in Buffyverse.

When I was about ten I fell in love with the young John Barrymore while watching a silent film series on PBS.

Karen Allen, definitely. Especially in Starman, she just makes me melt.

Donna Reed in It’s A Wonderful Life

Sandra Bullock in Speed

I had the most intense crush on Claire Danes back when she was on “My So-Called Life”. So much so that I still can’t stand Jared Leto in anything, one of my favorite movie scenes is when Ed Norton punches him in the face over and over and over in “Fight Club”.

She is one of 2 who first came to mind. Ingrid Bergman (esp in Casablanca) being the other. :melt:

Judy Garland

Natalie Wood

Elizabeth Montgomery. Amazingly beautiful, sexy, and yet w/that girl next door thing all at once.

Speaking of Elizabeths - not NOT Taylor who IMO is overrated - but Elizabeth Perkins in “Big.” She had the cutest expressions.

Jasika Nicole. I’m re-watching Fringe just so I can see her scenes again.

I’ll second that.

Tilda Swinton for everything. There is just something so magnetic about her.

Jean Dujardin for this.

You are totally correct, TC.

Somewhat. I think there’s a closer resemblance to Madonna but that’s just me.

Anyway, your post reminds me, I’ve felt that way about Helena Bonham Carter for years (well before her Tim Burton period). I think it’s mainly large intensely dark eyes. If she told me to put out a lit match in left eye, I’d probably do it.

Also, and I say this with some regret, I used to feel a bit of tinge for Shelley Long during the years she played on Diane on “Cheers”. She had a cute little catfish mouth back then. However, I think my attraction was due to some unresolved issues I had with an older girl in high school I had a serious crush on.

Finally, she’s not an actress and I’m not really a fan of most her music, but there was a time I considered Kate Bush perfect wife material.*

  • Incidentally, I’m aware many women find the term “wife material” sexist and offensive but I was younger, dumber, and less enlightened back then. I don’t look at women that way anymore. Honest.

? She had whiskers?

Did you ever see Caveman?

Hayley Mills

No, just the shape of the mouth.:stuck_out_tongue:

Oddly enough, that’s one I missed. However, I have seen **Night Shift **several times. She’s actually pretty good in the role of a call girl but, in retrospect, it seems rather jarring. It’s like if Doris Day somehow got cast as the lead in Irma La Douce.

Incidentally, are we limiting this thread to actors and actresses? I ask this because I brought up Kate Bush in my last post and there are a number of other singers who I’d like to add.
