Actors you hate in movies you like.

Andie McDowell in Four Weddings and a Funeral was the first to occur to me when I read the thread title, but I see others beat me to it. Not surprising, as she stunk up an otherwise good movie.

Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

I sense a trend.

Would have to second that. After Empire Records, I was surprised she ever got to do anything again.

Keanu Reeves in The Matrix (the first one, which was the only one I liked).

Adam Sandler in Billy Madison (to explain, I usually can’t stand him, but this movie cracks me up).

Leonardo DiCaprio in Gangs Of New York.

Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind. I’ll grudgingly admit he did a spectacular job of it, but if I’m ever given the opportunity, I’ll still kick him square in the nuts for the unforgivable offense of being Russell Crowe.

Ben Affleck in Paycheck.

Not actors but the spider like thing that emerges from the mothership in Close Encounters - It looks like a cheap kid’s toy. The “smiling?” alien itself isn’t too convincing either. Spoils an otherwise excellent movie.

Elijah Wood in the LOTR trilogy…

Julia Roberts in *Michael Collins *.

Aren’t there any actresses in Ireland? Or, any actresses anywhere who could do a better Irish accent. Or, like, actually act?

Just getting on the bandwagon…

Alia in Queen of the Damned. I don’t really hate her but I don’t think she fits the part well. shrugs

Another vote for:

Keanu Reeves in Much Ado About Nothing as well as Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Trend or ugly truth…you decide

Another vote for Elijah in LOTR.

Tom Cruise in Legend.

Timothy Dalton in the two 007 flicks he did.

Keanu Reeves in everything but Bill and Ted.

Julia Roberts in The Mexican.

Jennifer Connelly in House of Sand and Fog

Didn’t see it. Can’t stand Brad Pitt, either. Watched Fight Club ONLY because Edward Norton’s in it. Watched True Romance because it’s a Tarantino flick. Saw Devil’s Own because I’m a Harrison Ford fan (and the Julia Roberts comment about Irish actors also applies here). I normally can’t stomach Pitt at all.

Since we mentioned Julia Roberts, how about her Confessions co-star, George Clooney? The ONLY movie I’ve EVER liked him in was O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Dana Carvey in “Waynes World”

Denzel Washington in The Fallen

Val Kilmer in Heat

Uma Thurman in Kill Bill

Halle Berry in X-Men 2

I’ll secind Val Kilmer, Eternal, but I’d list Tombstone instead of Heat.

Kate Winslet in Quills

another vote for Liv Tyler in LOTR
