A nine-minute, unedited, undercover interview with Roger Stone revealed some of the MAGA ally’s more disturbing goals for a second Trump administration.
The covert recording of a discussion between Stone and an undercover journalist at a meet and greet in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 4, published by documentarian Lauren Windsor, caught Stone admitting live on camera that he already intends to send “armed guards to dispute the election in Detroit” and to imprison “former Attorney General Bill Barr if Trump returns to power.”
Donald Trump has proposed a fascist plan to deploy military forces against U.S. citizens who oppose him on election day.
“I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within,” the former president told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo when she asked if he expects “chaos on election day” from immigrants. “We have some very bad people, some sick people, radical left lunatics…. And it should be easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military.”
Considering that the Commander in Chief is currently Joe Biden, I think we’re more likely to see it deployed against MAGAts threatening purple state polling places. Probably not, in any event, but I for one wouldn’t mind seeing some of the leading GOP Voices for Violence™ rounded up in the next three weeks.
Well, sure, if we’re talking about the real world. But when Trump talks about the National Guard I’m sure he fantasizes about giving the orders to shoot down Democrats himself – or ordering the 101st Airborne Division into any states where a blue governor dares defy him, a la Eisenhower.
Some good news: a Georgia judge has overturned the state election board’s new rule that would have allowed them to attempt to avoid certifying results.
Driving the news: In Georgia, a Trump-aligned majority of the state’s election board passed a flurry of rules last month that would have changed how the election would be run in the state — including a measure to require poll workers to hand-count millions of ballots.
Republicans have appealed the decisions, which Republican National Committee chair Michael Whatley called "the very worst of judicial activism."

What they’re saying: “What we’ve seen … is courts across the country doing exactly what they’re supposed to do: Defend the Constitution and protect our right to vote,” said Jim Messina, a former campaign manager for Barack Obama and chair of the Democracy Defenders super PAC.
There’s been a large number (about 2500) likely fraudulent voter registrations submitted in Lancaster County PA. Submitted just before the deadline. Now it’s still early, so we don’t know who submitted them, and won’t know until further investigations. But this really pings my Republican-fraud detection meter.
But remember not to jump to conclusions. Let the investigation happen before castigating the culprits.
Here’s an updated article on the registration fraud in Lancaster. It seems the problems are coming from one or two paid canvasser organizations. They didn’t say which ones nor what party they’re associated with. About 60% of the suspicious registrations are turning up bad.
So the main problem may be that these organizations are being paid based on the number of registrations submitted. This is not a good way to run voter registration drives, since there’s too much of an incentive to cheat. The same with signature drives for initiatives, which is why paying per signature is illegal here in Oregon.
I’ll fully admit that I was biased enough to assume that the Lancaster thing is Republicans upon first reading. I hope so, if that doesn’t sound too weird.
