Hi, all. The following branched from a conversation my housemate Jay and I had in which we decided that Mike Tyson was perhaps the only real super villain of this world: he is superhumanly strong and resilient to harm, is known for acts of dastardly destruction and evil, and now, with the big tatoo over his eye, he truly resembles the quintisential (sp?) super villain. The following are some responses some of us had in regards to the idea. It occurred to me that it was beginning to resemble a SD thread, so I figured I’d post it. Feel free to respond…

TAMI: I think you and Jay should consider Michael Jackson. He has morphing powers, he often wears a mask, and no matter what anyone does to him, or says about him, he always comes out virtually unscathed.
JAY: Jacko may be the ‘behind the scenes’ type of evil dude, but who can he beat in a fight? I mean, Aquaman could take this guy. But maybe Michael has a horde of ruffians that he can pay to fight his insane battles for him.
From musicians, I’d have to cast Keith Richards as a super villan. Perhaps a vampire-type…
Would Mr. T be a super hero? He was a great villan in that Rocky movie.
FREEWILL39: I definitely can see Mr. T as a superhero, but kind of like the Hulk. He can be good or bad, depending upon the situation. All told, the Hulk was a superhero. But wrong him, and he’s a superhumanly powerful unstopable menace. I can totally see Mr. T like that…a hero who could easily lose his temper and act very un-superhero-esque. Sort of like Wolverine, a little, I guess.
Yes, I see what you mean about Jacko, and I agree. I think he has powers, but they are not offensive super powers, like the kind he can fight hand to hand with. I think he probably has super human flexibilty and agility, can morph to change his appearance, and is resilient to harm (a healing factor like Wolverine’s perhaps?). And he has money and resources beyond measure. And, he’s a mad man who thinks he’s sane, with a vision. Definitely the makings of a behind the scenes super human evil mastermind.
Keith Richards? Hmm…as freaky as he looks, I see no evidence of super human prowess. Perhaps he’s also a rich mastermind…but I think he’s a neutral one, who may step in from time to time with his money and resources when he deems it necessary. Now Marilyn Manson…I could see him more in the role of evil vampiric super bad guy. And he has a horde of evil vampiric flunkies who suck blood and play dark hypnotic metal that grips the mind and eaks away the sanity of its listeners. He is a sanity vampire…
So, the two Hulk-esque super guys we’ve agreed on are Mr. T and Mike Tyson (see the similarity in names? They might be each other’s arch rivals!), who in a small way resemble the Hulk and Abomination. So…who wins in a battle that shakes the earth…?
Are there any heroes?
