Actual weird store names from where you live.

I always liked Astérix more. Probably because of the wordplay. Although some of the stereotypes grate on me now.

Still, it’s one of the Great Rivalries:

Toronto, Montréal.
Pepsi, Coke.
The Who, The Rolling Stones.
New York, Chicago.
Los Angeles, San Francisco.
Microsoft, everybody else.
Daffy Duck, Donald Duck…

Tintin, Astérix.

Maybe it’s just me, but most of my friends still like Tintin. The books are ubiquitous and the videos (dubbed into english) are popular with folks with spawn.

And Tintin t-shirts, accessories and wee collectibles are popular with adult nerds. (To be precise, the big nerds have funny clothes and little things.)

Isn’t this TMI?

We have a Cutter’s Bar-B-Que and yes, their sausage and beans do turn us into exactly that.

Ah, so it’s just Hamish who’s culturally deprived.

Here in dublin, we have Gloriou’s foods run by Mr Gloriou.

and my favourite, a laminate floor company called Lino Richie.

This convenience store is in Vancouver:

U-GO-TO STORE

In my town there’s a tiny little shopped tucked into a shopping center called Key Kopy. Not weird at all, right? Except they don’t copy keys. They even have a hand-written sign on their window that says We don’t copy keys. Thanks – Management.
