ad trojan horse warning

I got an avast warning popup with the following details

Infection Details
URL:
http://optimized-by.rubiconproject.com/a/dk.html?defaulting_ad

Process:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer…

Infection:
HTML:Iframe-AMG [Trj]

I’ll report this.

Unfortunately your link does not tell us anything except that you perhaps had a suspicious ad. Do you remember what you saw when you got to this page, if anything?

I don’t like logging in when I’m on the work computer, so I get the pop-up ads when I visit the page.

Recently there has been a pop-up ad that crashes the browser. Same one, maybe?

I was afraid of that, but figured I’d report it anyway. The work computer I’m on at the moment has ads enabled because I don’t like to mess with the configuration too much for a temporary computer.

The ads on top change continuously and I didn’t know which particular one would have been going. It was not a pop-up ad.

Yeah, something screwy is going on here. Yesterday morning I got an Avast alert as soon as I got here & then IE crashed on me. I wish I could tell you more.

I found this site through a google search. Been here about 10 minutes or so, and IE has crashed 3 times. That’s not happened before. Something is amiss.

Sorry this is the content of my first post. The content looks interesting, as does the community. I was exploring the 2013 subscription thread when I got the last crash, so I’ll go back to trying to find out about that.

That’s the beauty of it! Nobody looks at ads, so the [del]scammers[/del] ad-makers can do anything they want, and no one will see them! :stuck_out_tongue:

It just happened to me again. I grabbed a screenshot of the warning info.

Avast warning

The domain in wedgehed’s screenshot is owned by a Russian, which certainly (and unfortunately) adds to its illegitimacy.

Sorry, I’m having a hard time loooking at this screenshot … can you send me a jpg directly? Maybe I’ll have more luck with that.

I have forwarded all this upstairs.

Sorry it happened to you.
