Hmm… a Libertarian, 7 Republicans, and 5 Democrats (unless I miscounted).
I find it somewhat puzzling that someone could support candidates with such varied policy positions. How many issues do, say, Marco Rubio and Russ Feingold actually agree on?
It’s not just about policy. Feingold’s a proven reformer, one of the most honest men in politics. That counts for a lot. Character does matter. We’re supposed to elect our best and brightest, not just our most committed to certain issues.
You’ll also notice that aside from Feingold, I’m supporting no progressive candidates. All are moderates or conservatives. Well, I guess Sanchez is liberal, but she’s less liberal than Kamala Harris and more honest(if a bit loopy).
I don’t exactly have any great options. Johnson has at least proved he can govern without falling on his face and without getting into ethical problems.
I would literally take ANY of the Senate candidates I’ve endorsed and many of their opponents as well over the Presidential choices we have.
Did Johnson ever play football? Without a helmet? Was he dropped as a child? Seriously, the dude could not name one single foreign leader. This is the guy you think is qualified to lead US foreign policy?
There is nothing wrong with the presidential choices. Hillary is fine, perhaps you might examine your rationale for opposing her and sorting out the real from the fictional. Republicans have been lying about her for a generation, once you remove the lies, she looks a lot better.
Hell, I bet your next door neighbor can name at least one foreign leader. She/he has as much chance of winning as Johnson-Write in your neighbor, and know that you made a more intelligent choice.
I disagree with Feingold on a number of issues, but have great respect for him and would vote for him in a heartbeat. His principled stance on the Iraq AUMF, along with his Senate speech regarding same stand it stark contrast to… certain other Senators of that time.
Gary Johnson has shown himself to be a a dingbat, and not worthy of a protest vote. If I’m feeling like an HRC protest vote (since CA is safely out of Trump’s reach) I’ll write in Bernie (assuming I can). Have not decided yet.
I’m as ignorant of the rest of the world as the next American, but I can at least tell you that Putin’s in Russia and Kim Jong Un is in North Korea. Do we seriously have someone who claims to be in politics who can’t even name those two?
Most of those are too far right for me, but that’s to be expected. The surprise there is Gary Johnson for president. Come on, Johnson knows as little about the world as Trump. In fact I imagine him very much like Trump might be after a lobotomy, one which cured his psychopathy but left him as basically an inert lump of protoplasm. Johnson would be dangerously incompetent, but it’s not being widely discussed only because no one takes his campaign seriously.
There’s nothing wrong with Hillary being president. Wouldn’t be my first choice, but that’s life. She’s the only one running who has knowledge and experience and actual sensible policies and is actually qualified for the job. She just needs to keep Bill on a leash to keep him from wandering the halls ogling the female help.
