Additating extra syllables

Not that. That’s the process of changing a sound into a diphthong. Instead, we’re talking about whole syllables here.

In the California public school systems, all teachers must attend a credential program and earn their teaching credential. It’s a pretty piece of paper with lovely calligraphy and a seal and several signatures. A certificate, if you would.

How does the state of California refer to teachers who have completed their course work and earned the certificate that spells out their credentials?

Certificated.

I swear, when I saw that in the paperwork I had to fill out, I wanted to drag the entire state department of education to my classroom and make them write lines until they begged for mercy. [sub]It’s certified, you cretins! CERTIFIED.[/sub]

Seems that certifcate (as a verb) has been around for a while.

One day I asked my wife what she and her friend were talking about on the phone, and she said, “Oh, you know girls…just conversating.”

I told her that if I ever caught her ‘conversating’ again, with anyone, I would pack my shit and leave.

You guys with your wordplay. You’re so mischievious.

I feel the need to go wash my hands now.

Don’t ya just love working in higher edumacation?

Quite a party you’re having there, fellows.

“Gak” is modern London slang for cocaine.

“Britishisism” was one I often heard from a former co-worker.

Pressurized is a word (pressurized cannister, etc.). The one I hate is incentivize.

Just for that, I’d let you move in with me (if I weren’t already married.)

Yes, but unless the ex-boss in question had an air hose up his behind, it was the wrong word in that context.

Mayhaps it was only a wittischism. Nonethelessly, it’s flustrationing to hear such a thingage. My head is rotitating from the confusination, and I can’t get combobulated.

I have been trying, in my head, to break down “reprehensible.” re pre hens ible = Again before chickens kibble. Huh?

It means “having the ability to have two tails:” re + prehensile + able

Yes, this problem must be solutioned!!
