Adele has such rotten luck. Getting Vocal Cord Surgery

Musicians dream of having a hit record. Adele’s “21” is the best-selling album of the year in the United States. Sad that she can’t promote it with live concerts. That’s a ton of money she’s losing.

I recall last April or May she was on Dancing With the Stars and had to get another guest to sing one of the songs. Her voice just wasn’t up to two songs in one night. She canceled a bunch of concerts this past summer.

I think part of her problem was refusing to rest like the doctors wanted. It’s understandable that she wanted to do the concerts and make the money. But, now she’s paying the price with surgery. I hope she doesn’t try to rush back to the stage and singing damages her voice again.

I wonder how much classical vocal training she has? A lot of pop and rock artists strain their voices because they don’t have the right vocal technique. I’m not sure if that’s what happened to Adele or not.

Not too long after Eurythmics hit it big, Annie Lennox developed nodules on her vocal cords. She had to have surgery, and had to lay off singing for some months, but was apparently able to recover fully. On the other hand, Julie Andrews apparently had similar surgery, and never recovered her singing voice.

Adele has a heckuva voice, and I hope she can recover.

I’ve been playing Adele’s “21” constantly for months. I hope she fully recovers and continues recording. She’s got a real gift.
Don’t You Remember

Turning Tables

She’s quite a heavy smoker, I believe , which won’t help.

Oddly enough, rumors that Adele has throat cancer are sweeping across the internet. There is absolutely no evidence of this so it’s almost certainly somebody confusing vocal cord nodules with tumors.

It must be a bad month for everyone, Paul Stanley’s in for surgery on his vocal cords too.

And John Mayer.

Adele’s camp has officially denied throat cancer rumors.
