I’ve watched a couple episodes but usually while preoccupied with something else. I almost turned it off the other night when the Pratt’s were going overboard with the Jesus stuff until the other “celebs” starting talking about how it was a bit too much, too. I even liked Daniel Baldwin’s comment about how they seemed to be convenient Christians. Then Sanjaya’s comment about the Devil coming out of her was the icing on the cake.
I thought it was unfair that one of them got voted off and the Pratts were allowed to come back having not even been included in the vote. I think that had more to do with the other one of the comedy duo deciding to leave.
And don’t underestimate Janice, she came in 2nd in the UK version of the show a few years ago. She has a loyal fanbase, I think (didn’t she thank her “gays” last week when she wasn’t voted off?)
Not watching it, but I did see the episode of Man v. Wild with WIll Farrell. Bear didn’t make him drink his own urine unfortunately, but he did eat a dear eye.
Yeah I watched 20 minutes of it before I had to leave the house. I managed to catch Spencer and Heidi (I don’t have any idea who they are or how they are famous) decide to leave because Heidi is sick (apparently because they tried a spiritual fast? Brilliant!) Anyhow, the pair were in the hospital and Heidi was making a huge show of things and spencer was talking all religiousy beside her and one of the things he said was:
“Jesus loves you more than he loves anyone else”
That line alone makes me wish they stay on this show.
Someone missed a pretty good opportunity for a shot at Janice Dickenson too. Her and Dan Baldwin were arguing about how she never does anything and she mentioned how she gets people wood. I really wish Daniel had responded with “Not in about 20 years you haven’t”. What a truly horrible woman.
I watched the first episode. That was enough. I thought there would be physical challenges like Survivor. Instead, they just eat some weird stuff, and lay headfirst into a bowl of crawlie things. ::yawn::
Yeah, it’s been a fixture in the British TV calendar for quite a few years. Gets big ratings. They tried it a while ago in the US, but it didn’t take. I guess they’re having another go.
Gross though. She’s old enough to be his grandmother. (No idea if Sanjaya’s gay- it wouldn’t surprise me either way- but is or isn’t she was being way too touchy and familiar.)
As someone who has had a crush on him for a long time as well (I’m female), I was very happy to find out watching this that he is very normal and level headed - I wasn’t going to watch at first because I was afraid of ruining my crush with the reality that he’s a nutjob of some sort. I kind of ended up having to watch because being in Chicago, as others have mentioned, Patti being on it is considered big news and is a major water cooler topic.
Why LDP decided this was a good career move, I’ll never know.
Patti is ultimate schadenfreude. You know there’s no way in hell she’d be getting eaten by bugs and looking at bull testicles if her husband wasn’t in deep shite back home and every penny and positive exposure counted. That said I agree that she actually seems like a decent enough person.
Another “why is LDP on this?” vote. He’s not a washed up 15 minute wonder reality star, he still works and has a career on stage and in film and on TV.
He did divorce his wife recently after a 13 year marriage so that probably hit him hard financially (they have 3 daughters, and he’s had a daughter since with his new wife), but I doubt that’s the reason. The celebrities on these shows do get paid for their appearances but it’s not a lot. (Willie Aames from Eight is Enough declared bankruptcy recently and in docs on Smoking Gun it said he received $14,000 for his appearances on Celebrity Fit Club; being on network he’s probably paid more but not a lot more, plus while he’s not A-list he can probably earn a lot more than his fee for this show doing personal appearances or guest shots on network shows.
His charity is Art Has Heart, a scholarship program. Does anyone know how much the prize is? Maybe it’s that important to him. Or maybe it’s to remind people he’s still hot and still working, which might particularly be useful if he wants to star in a future TV show.
The impression I get from Lou is that he probably thought it might actually be fun and a way to help out a charity he believes in. It seems that everyone else was just doing it for attention to gain a few more minutes of “fame”.
I used to think Stephen Baldwin was adorable but not anymore. So far Daniel seems a bit more sensible but I think Billy is the only normal-ish Baldwin (because we don’t see him on these sort of shows). Oooh, maybe next time it could be an All-Baldwin version, “I’m a Baldwin! Get Me Out of Here!”.
Up until this thread was posted, I’d never even heard of this show, and now that I know what it is, I have even less desire to watch, however, considering I have zero desire to watch in the first place, can there be a quantity of less than zero
Really Janice? Peeing beside your bed? Seriously? And stealing the granola bar? I’m flabberghasted! She didn’t even confess to it in confessional! It’s like she is completely oblivious to the cameras capturing everything. Certifiable batshit crazy.
AKA “a career in reality shows for as long as she wants one”. (Did you see her on Surreal Life? She’s actually holding it together way better now than she was then.)
