Adobe Acrobat/PDF question--inserting searchable meta keywords into files?

I’m working on an archive project for a client. We’re converting scanned, etc., docs to PDF format (using Acrobat Capture for OCR to make the scanned text “live”).

One great thing about PDF is that you can index the archive and then search for words in it. Unfortunately, It would be extra-helpful if I could insert some of my client’s commonly used category keywords into the files for yet-easier searching ad organizing.

I have been unable to find in the Acrobat/PDF documentation if it is possible to insert such meta keywords invisibly into a PDF file–most importantly, so that they’ll be available to Acrobat’s Search function. The Summary/Keywords information for each doc is, inexplicably, not examined by the Search function.

Does anyone know a way to do this? Or must I resort to secretly inserting the keywords in the margins in all-white spoiler-style text?
