Adobe Illo Type Question

OK, I’ve been trying to accomplish this for almost 3 hours now. I am utterly stumped.

I want to make a line of type follow a spiral. So I draw the spiral, I click on it with the type-path tool, and I past the text. It will only allow me to place the text on the inside curve of the spiral; thus the text will read from the center out. I want to place the text on the outer curve of the spiral, so it reads from the outside in.

Nothing I do works; it will only, ONLY let me make the inner curve of the spiral a type path. I’ve rotated, I’ve flipped, I’ve aligned, I’ve tried any number of combinations of these things, to no friggin avail. Is it really simply not possible to do this? Thanks in advance for your help with this frustrating situation.

Use the direct selection tool.
Select the text.
Grab the line that sticks out from the spiral.
Flip it to the other side of the spiral path.
Voilà!

Select the text. Then, from the “Type” menu, go to “Type on a path,” then to “Type on a path options," then check the box that says ”Flip.”

You’re a frickin genius. Question: where would you find this in Help? Why does Help suck so haaard?

Hmm. No such menus. You must have a newer version.

I don’t remember where I read this hint originally.
The help in Adobe CS4 really sucks Goose eggs. I did find this, by searching for “positioning type on a path” on their website, but it was the eighth result…
