Advice for newlyweds (question prompts needed)

Saturday, I’m hosting a wedding shower for a dear friend. Now, this is far from a traditional shindig (her maid of honor, for instance, is a straight dude…which is why I’m throwing this party :p) and the whole party leans more toward delicious food-drink- and good company kick back than traditional wedding party. The party is completely coed. So, no silly wedding games that we all freaking hate anyway. Yay! **

The one thing I’d like to do, though, is pretty simple. I got custom stationary with their names and the date of the shower on it. I’d like to have each guest write a little note to the couple, then I’m going to scan the notes in and make them a scrapbook of the shower with the notes, plus party photos, on a site like Picaboo. Cute, right?

I figured it may be a good idea to have a little bowl of topics people can pull out if they need some help on what to write. I’d like some more traditional things, but silly and ridiculous are good too. So, Dopers, help me come up with some prompts, please!

Examples:

The one thing Bob and Sally should never let come between them would be. . . (something more serious)

If Bob and Sally ever find themselves being chased by zombies, who should sacrifice the other and why? (something more silly)

**Just to clarify this point, the only “game” we have is a pinata filled with plastic booze bottles. Specifically, a pinata that looks like Kevin Smith. You see, friend was supposed to be married at the SmodCastle thing by Kev, but when the venue changed, insurance issues arose and- long story short- my friend was left scrambling to find a wedding venue 3 months out because Kev cancelled. So, since Kev has now lost two major fans, I figured she and the groom might like the opportunity to beat the shit out of a paper mache Kevin Smith.

Something I’d like to watch Bob and Sally do together is …

I’d like to see Bob and Sally dress for Halloween as …

That kind of thing?

Yup. Or just general life/marriage advice prompts, too. Some mushy lovey things mixed in with silly are good, especially since Grandma will be there :).

I am concerned that the booze bottles might break. Have you tested this idea?

How about "One thing Bob and Sally should do every day is … "

Plastic, my friend. Trust me, we put a lot of thought into this heh.

Make sure you record the pinata beating and send it to Kevin Smith. He might think it’s funny.

As for advice: “The key to a long and happy marriage is…”

Ooooh! Definitely!! :stuck_out_tongue:

“Bob and Sally should try ___________ ing together.”

Howzat?

Ha! Love it. Keep 'em coming

When gearing up for a knock down drag out fight, Bob and Sally should try to first consider _____ before throwing themselves all in.

When discussing finances or other controversial topics, Bob and Sally should first __________.

If and when kids come along, Bob and Sally should plan to always make time for ________.

Howze that?

Since it’s a fun, non-traditional shower start the night with this jewel.
