Advice on a WiFi radio receiver

The internet is great for shopping if you know what you want, but merchants can’t be bothered to tell you what things actually do. I am looking for a a device that connects to the house WiFi and allows me to browse for an internet station and feed the resulting signal into my stereo receiver. So what I want is the WiFi version of a tuner. I’m sure it exists, but when I search for something like, there are loads of hits, but they don’t explain what the devices do.

Roku used to sell a product called the ‘SoundBridge’ - I love mine. Try the Google for ‘internet radio tuner’.

Squeezebox — the low end (cheapest) one is called Squeezebox Radio Player. It’s WiFi, and the radio is supported by the web site mysqueezebox.com
Google Shopping - Product not found

I have the Squeezebox Touch and love it. It has a few more features than the Radio Player.

Another vote for the Squeezebox. I have the Squeezebox Boom (3 of them actually) and while it sounds fine with it’s own speakers, it also has a 1/8" stereo output jack to connect to a stereo. The Squeezebox Radio probably has one too, and the Duet and Touch are specifically designed to be connected to a stereo.

Of course, an iPod touch would work also.

A recent thread. Someone there recommended a Livioradio.
