After 6 years, I finally get to play the Word Game.

Anyone ever play this? It was taught to me by my grandfather, and my aunt and I played it almost daily for about 10 years. Then I moved and have had a serious Word Game draught since then. I tried to teach it to some friends, but none of them were very interested. The game goes like this:

Two players, each one selects a 5 letter word with no repeating letters, and doesn’t tell the other player what it is. “Stick” is okay, “Areas” is not, since it has two “A’s”.

The players take turns shooting 5 letter words back and forth. When the first player shoots a word, the second player tell them how many letters in thier “shoot” word match the letters in thier secret word. You change your words to eliminate letters and determine what the other player’s word is before they do the same to you.
Is this just confusing?

Piles?

Piles has one.

My first shot is stick.

Stick has two.

A suggestion: This should be just one person “call and response” style against the rest of the Board, or else it just becomes a one-on-one game (like above). Or you can try and do a many to many game, which could be confusing as all get out.

One on one is the only way it really works. So it’ll be me vs. you Shibb.
