In the next Trek series, can we PLEASE have a gay character? I mean, an out-of-the-closet one (I’ve long had my suspicions that most of the Voyager crew was not-so-straight, but none of them would admit it). Or are there no longer any gay humanoids by the time deep space missions get underway? This I find odd - the last few series have made an effort to have some kind of racial and gender diversity (yay for tokenism!), but there’s no sexual diversity to speak of.
