Eh, you can keep your Randall. Go for a Ruana on your next go around. I bought my first one as a Christmas present for my step father around 1975. It was a big hit and in the process, I got to know the maker Rudy pretty well by swapping him elk antler sheds towards a new knife of my own.

After my step dad died, I got the knife back and we were a two Ruana home. Then my young chillin’s took my father’s knife on a gopher killing expedition and the knife never made it back.

On a lark, I went looking for a replacement on e-bay. Holey-Moley, those things have gone up in value since the 70’s! My rare little “brassie” in the photo is still my go to hunting knife, but you can be dang sure I keep track of it. A signed version like mine is worth well more than 1500 these days and I’ve only seen just one like it.
