After years of waxing hair off, what happens when you stop?

What sort of hair grows back after someone has been waxing for a long period of time and then stops? Is it thicker? Lighter? Coarser? Just the same?

I’m mostly interested in chest/back hair, but I’d be interested in hearing about all different situations.

Generally thinner, due to the damage done to the hair follicles by the waxing. cite.

What about when only plucking has been involved? Same answer?

Plucking is pretty permanent as well. I once had a sort of mono-brow look and plucked it. Less and less came back and I haven’t had hair above my nose for decades now.
