AAAAA
Yup, same thing happened to me.

Yup, same thing happened to me.
Can we ask an admin to defang this, please? We have an abundance of eager amateur copyeditors here and absolutely don’t need Discourse arbitrarily and ignorantly blocking legitimate communication.
@engineer_comp_geek, your attention is requested. ![]()
Let me know how it’s working now.

[result: “Post must be at least 5 characters”]
ABCDE
[result: also got the error message, but in a popup]
Post length and entropy are two different settings. Try it now.

[It worked! My LORD, is that cathartic!!]
ABCDE
[post length minimum still in effect – feature, not bug]
Turning off the entropy lets you post ‘AAAAAAA’; it is not the same as the minimum number of characters
qwerty

It’s a lonely number.
A
Who opened the sock drawer?
Banny is a test account. We use him for moderator training (he’s been banned about 40 times or so IIRC) and to test things out.
And, befitting his name, I just banned him again.
(I’m the one who named him, if you are looking for who to blame)
AAAAA
(that was surprise and alarm. I added this after the fact.)
![]()
A moot point now, but the reason AAAAA didn’t work before wasn’t a minimum character limit. Before ECG’s changes, Discourse did not allow a post with all caps.
Interesting. I’m glad ECG diagnosed that too.
Truly, we don’t need the editor gatekeeping our posts. As the title days, let the mods moderate.

ETA: can be as bad as one, it’s the loneliest number since the number one.
Thanks, Harry Nilsson and ECG.
