Again, Our Mods Can Do Their Job

… without fucking Disco robot looking over their shoulders and applying its own filters.

When someone posts something objectively hilarious, :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing: is a perfectly legitimate response.

The Discourse robot has got to go.

(Mods,feel free to move this to the Pit.)

:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I meant :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing: without the need for extra coding.

I’m so lost, what is this about?

& characters for Discourse …

I do not know, but I did not do any coding. @OP are you experiencing a glitch?

There is min_post_length but I do not know what it is set to. I believe perhaps lower than the default, though

I replied to a post with that string of emojis, and Discourse returned an error message, asking if it was a complete sentence.

That is body_min_entropy, and I do not know what it is set to, either— but you saw my post.

That’s not discobot, that’s discourse.

@discobot is everyone’s friend.

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.

@discobot fortune

:crystal_ball: You may rely on it

Rely on what ?

:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I did not need any extra coding to post the above.

And the “Are you sure this is a complete sentence?” message can be dismissed and your post saved as-is. Just as can the “Your OP looks similar to these other OPs. Are you sure you want to post?”

The only message that’s a show-stopper is the minimum post length of 5 characters. Which of course can be outsmarted, but can’t be just ignored

I tried ignoring it, but it repeated the question.

:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

ETA: It didn’t even ask me if I was sure. It just let me post.

:face_in_clouds: :partying_face: :face_with_crossed_out_eyes: :nauseated_face: :smiling_face_with_horns:

:red_triangle_pointed_up: :fondue: :detective: :foggy: :socks:

ETA: Discourse let it through unmentioned.

When I posted 5 capital "A"s (in surprise and alarm), and the “that’s not a complete sentence” popup only had an “ok” button. And subsequent attempts to submit got exactly the same blocking, no matter how often I tried.

Likewise “ABCDE”.

I don’t understand the rules, I guess. 5 different emojis are fine, but 5 alphabetical characters (same or different) are not.
