Season 5 renewal looks likely - Agents of SHIELD Renewed for Season 5?
I wish (hope?) they’d bring “Good Ward” back through the Real Boy machine. Trip would be nice too, but Ward would be more interesting.
Ooh, that’s a good idea. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do just that.
Maybe they will 3d print Hope to get mack out.
Since Hope, Mack, Ward, and Trip were never brain scanned, I hope (ha!) that they can’t be recreated by Project Looking Glass. While they would be interesting plot movers, it seems to break the whole point of the Framework. You could just create a new version of anyone from a computer simulation that only knows what a handful of people experienced about their lives.
I imagine you could create a new Mace, Agnes, or Radcliffe.
Mack and Mace both were brain-scanned, weren’t they?
In what sense was Aida brain scanned?
Mack’s body is still alive. Mace’s body is dead.
She ported into the Framework using the same interface as everyone else. Plus, her brain was built.
Sorry; thought you were implying that Mace had never been scanned.
Has it been established as canon that the brains of the other constructs haven’t been similarly built? I mean, wasn’t the framework built by the same person who built Aida’s brain?
I’ve hated the Russian guy as a villain this whole season, but I have to admit I liked his line about parts of the Darkhold being pretty funny.
So why did Jemma Ice Fitz & imprison him with Aida? So she could spy on him to see which of them he was actually in love with? That’s pretty manipulative.
And I can’t believe they literally ended the episode with a Diabolus ex Machina.
Also, two things that annoyed the crap out of me in this episode -
Coulson finds out his shield also makes a dandy weapon, useful for slicing robot faces off. So why doesn’t he use it 10 minutes later when fighting exactly the same enemy?
Fitz said Ophelia had been studying all the Inhumans in the Framework to get their powers. But that makes absolutely no sense. Either the Framework code just gave them the powers without having to know or understand how they worked in Real Life (the far more likely explanation), or the Framework creator would already have had to know how they work in order to program them in.
The Darkhold did it.
Well, at the time she didn’t know if Fitz was good or not.
[del]A wizard[/del] The Darkhold did it.
Sure, that’s why she Iced him, but there was absolutely no reason to imprison him with Ophelia & spy on him except to see which one of them he was in love with.
Good point. Withdrawn. I still want to know why Phil isn’t slicing everyone’s face off now.
LOL, Kriss and Dpalm on the MTR Network totally called it: Aida turned herself into a Super Skrull! Can’t wait to listen to this week’s Super Tuesday Recap.
I just assumed they hadn’t had time to deal with the situation yet. She shot them. They were put in a box for containment & transport. They got to the base and left them together for the time being while they got a few things cleaned up post mission. (You wouldn’t want to transport either of them out of the box without appropriate backup). But before SHIELD could get around to them, stuff happened.
I really liked AIDA/Ophelia’s heart getting broken - I thought it was played really well.
Base was all blown up - only one containment cell surviving is a perfectly reasonable explanation. They had scorch marks in it, so even this one wasn’t undamaged.
Unless something way out of left field happens, I feel precisely zero tension for the upcoming finale, mostly because it’s already a foregone conclusion that AIDA is going to be killed/eliminated by having Ghost Rider take her to The Dead Zone.
I would certainly hope that the writers are more original than that, but I feel that if (hopefully when) the series is renewed for another season, if the plot is the SHIELD gang with Rider against AIDA, then it’s inevitably going to end the same way the LMD arc did.
I mean, if the season had another 10 episodes or so to go, I would let a backdoor pilot for the upcoming Inhumans series serve as the resolution for the Aida/Ophelia storyline. Otherwise, the options are pretty much either to resolve it the way you suggested, with Ghost Rider, or bring the Defenders (maybe even the Avengers) onto AoS.
But, I can’t see it not being resolved next week, unless the show runners have already been assured that the’ve been renewed. They might leave a few loose ends, but I can’t see them ending on a cliffhanger, unless they know what’s up.
