I didn’t catch that. What did they do?
They had a white lettering on a black screen that said “Dedicated to our friend Powers Boothe”
Or something to that effect
and she could do a duet with Jemma - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-c6IFBByeI
They did explain why: because the Demon could kill Ophelia, but she was keeping her distance from Robbie, so they needed to catch her by surprise. There’s even precedent from earlier in the season, when the Demon jumped into Mack’s body. What they didn’t explain, compared to when the Demon possessed Mack, was why it could possess Coulson.
ahh - but they did - since there is now some form of pact between Coulson and the Demon - it was briefly mentioned afterwards in a line or two between Coulson and Robbie.

Robbie then returns to his… whatever, but not before exchanging cryptic words with Coulson about why the Ghost Rider made the “deal” that allowed Coulson to serve as a temporary host. “I don’t envy you,” Robbie said to Phil before leaving, making May curious.

That’s the bit I was referencing. I like that tease and I’m interested in why
Yeah I suspect they put them in space to make it easier to tie into the next Avengers which I expect to take place off earth (at least a big chunk of it).
It was shown in the first minute of the episode. When Robbie starts up the GhostCar as the camera pans past him they show Mack’s face.
Agents will be returning in early to mid November, as I recall. First they’ll do the Inhumans miniseries, anyway. That puts it shortly after the Thor première. I expect SHIELD to cross over with that, not Avengers.
So maybe I missed it. What happened to the Russian bots and his brain?
He said he could make unlimited copies of himself?
I’m still not getting it. Can you explain a bit more?
I wasn’t very clear, was I. In the first shot of Ghost Rider they put a subtle reminder that the Spirit of Vengeance can jump bodies, foreshadowing the jump into Coulson later in the episode. I just caught something odd and went back to rewatch it slowed down to make sure I saw it. I’m not sure it makes narrative sense (why would the body suddenly look like Mack, who was still in the Framework at that time), but it works on a meta-storytelling level.
Definitely a loose end, we never learned where his head ended up or what resources he still has access to. Presumably he has access to LMD manufacturing but maybe not the ability to program the brains to act independently, but it seems he personally can control a large number of LMDs simultaneously.
We also have open questions about Talbot in a coma, fallout from the propaganda campaign against SHIELD, will we get a new director, what happens with Coulson/May and FitzSimmons.
I hope Talbot doesn’t die/retire/otherwise leave the show. He’s a fun character.
Ohhh ok. I get it now. I thought you were saying that because they showed Mack, the reason Coulson gave had something to do with him.
But it was a reminder to the audience that “hey, this is possible don’t forget.”
Finally watched the finale - the whole Yo-Yo plot pissed me off. If you’ve ever wanted me to not like a character - that’s how you do it.
I’m not a hardcore shipper type person, but I do tend to like that element of television shows. This particular show makes consistently bad choices in that area. (Not just the “who” but the “how” and “why” and “when”)- there were several examples of that in the finale.
Still, it was fun. Looking forward to next season.
Did anyone else get the idea that the Russian dude is now MODOK? He’s a disembodied brain controlling a robot and he told Aida that he was “Designed Only for Killing…”
The next season of SHIELD will begin in January of 2018 and will run all 22 episodes without a break.
You know, that makes a lot of sense. I’ll miss the flying chair the one in the comics rides, though.
I did catch that callout, but IIRC, he said ‘this body is designed only for killing’, which is somewhat opposite to MODOK, who’s after all a Mental Organism (as opposed to a body).
