No, she didn’t pretend it was a badge. What she did was pretend she called SHIELD and ordered them to shut down the device. In reality, the device did it automatically but it looked to Lynch like Skye was able to give orders.
Some of those are pretty wild. For example, all indications are Coulson remembers his girlfriend so he would presumably recognize Raina.
(I’ll note, however, that my WAG was that Edison Poe had a split personality and he actually was the Clairvoyant. Obviously, this theory has been disproven.)
My current wild theory is a continuation of one I’ve had all along. SHIELD has been compromised. Some entity - Loki, Thanos, Ultron, the Collector, the Clairvoyant - has been able to infiltrate SHIELD and is controlling some of the leadership of the agency. Fury knows this but doesn’t know who the double agents are. So he’s in the dilemma that he can’t conduct an internal investigation because the investigators might be part of the conspiracy. If mind control is involved, the conspiracy might even involve people - including Fury - who are unaware that they’re double agents.
But for some as-yet-unrevealed reason, Fury knows that Coulson is not a double agent (maybe the infiltration happened during the period when Coulson was dead). So Fury has set up Coulson in an isolated situation where the double agents - whoever they may be - aren’t monitoring him.
Shit I missed this!
I turned to my wife and said, “Here’s something you can’t do…”
I’ve clearly watched *Firefly *too much. Wait… that’s not possible, is it?
I wonder if Stan Lee will be playing The Clairvoyant.
that would be awesome.
Son of a bitch. I just checked Hulu and ABC’s website. Apparently they’ve decided to stop carrying episodes of this show for free.
You have to wait a week unless you pay for Hulu plus or if you have cable T.V. service.
I thought at fist I had to either wait a week or pay- and I was not going to pay- but then I read up on the whole cable provider thing.
I have cable T.V. from Cox but I never set up an online account, so the first thing I had to do was set up an online account. Then I had to set up an account with Hulu. Hulu then gives a spot to enter my cable provider, then it forwards me to a screen where I sign in on my Cox account, then it brings me back to Hulu and I can watch the show.
Huge pain in the ass . . . today. But now that I have activated my online account with Cox, signed up with Hulu, and linked the two accounts it’s perfectly easy. I think the Hulu notice told me that I’ll have to reestablish the link between the two accounts once a week or something like that.
ETA: for some reason Hulu couldn’t bring up the drop down menu for cable providers when I was using Chrome. I switched to Firefox and it all worked right away.
My WAG - the Clairvoyant doesn’t actually have any powers. He knows what he knows because he’s from the future; in fact, he’s Kang the Conqueror.
Not just any cable TV service. I have Time Warner and they’re not included in this deal.
That kind of knowledge would seem to be self-limited. If I traveled into the past, I might have a lot of knowledge about “future” events - but if I tried to manipulate events based on my knowledge, I’d change the history that I knew about.
Yeah, but that’s because you’re just Little Nemo instead of Little Nemo the Conqueror.
Yes, but that is something that should be embraced. A time traveller or psychic who knows how things would have worked out, whose predictions slowly get out of sync with reality as their foresight changes the world is a damn interesting idea - much better than nonsense about paradoxes.
Just explode the fourth wall. He knows everything because he’s the president of the company producing all these episodes. He doesn’t know exactly what happened to Coulson because they haven’t figured that out in the writing meetings yet.
Why not mom?
Because her mother is dead?
I’m calling it now: Hand is the Clairvoyant. She’s obviously evil. She would have access to the sonic paralyser thingy she used on Poe. She had to ask if Raina was there, so she’s not really clairvoyant, she just has access to everyone’s files.
Hand is the Clairvoyant.
So she’s been told.
Which would fit right in with Marvel’s next big movie - Cap 2.
Since one of the major sub-plots seems to be factionalism and deceit in SHIELD.
That would make total sense if the show were self contained. My wife also thinks she’s shady based on her portrayal (and the “fact” that “no professional woman would have that red streak in her hair.” ;)) but in the comics…
she’s nothing special like that, as far as I can tell from her wiki entry. Sometimes picks the wrong side, possessed once or twice and forced to do bad stuff, but on the whole, a good guy, and acknowledged as such.
Also, apparently gay, and after…wait, new spoiler box just in case
Whedon spoilers…
After the hullabaloo Joss has gotten before about things that he’s done to beloved lesbian characters, I doubt the Whedon’s are eager to open up that can of worms by making her evil. Personally, I thought the Dark Willow storyline was amazing, but there are folks who hate it, and lots of folks who thought it was offensive to have a groundbreaking lesbian couple play into the so-called Dead/Evil Lesbian trope. Granted, on the show, there’s no hint of it, but the internet digs up stuff like that really well.
Granted, the show is the show and the comics are the comics, but I still doubt it.
