Does Time Warner have On Demand. You can watch it through that (you will probably not be able to fats forward the ads but still…)
So the solution to the mystery of how they brought Coulson back to life was… SHIELD has very good doctors? I guess clones or robots or the other fan theories were too dehumanizing for a central character even on a comic book show.
We don’t know how he was brought back to life yet. We only know he had lost all will to live after he had been brought back. The Brain Spider was overwriting terrible memories of something with happy memories of Tahiti
My WAG: Coulson was in Valhalla since he died in battle with a Norse god. The resurrection process pulled him back. There will be repercussions.
Vampires with chips in their heads can suddenly smack him around without pain?
“Give me something to sing about…”
We also now know that he was dead for days - and that his heart was destroyed - so he wasn’t just mostly dead.
also that Fury went ‘above and beyond’ (moved heaven and earth) and apparently defied orders (again) doing so - based on the droid doing the brain work, maybe he contacted the Emperor.
I was thinking more along the lines of “They got the mustard out!” but both are good.
“Mustard” would have been funnier! I only went with “sing” because of the whole “lost your will to live” thing.
Should I mention that the “Mustard Man” was David Fury?
Okay, it’s wild theories you say you want.
Let’s tie two of the show’s mysteries together: Skye’s missing mother is the Clairvoyant.
Here’s how it works: The Clairvoyant is a mutant who has the power to sense things. SHIELD is obviously worried about facing such an adversary - how do you fight somebody who can see what your plans are? But then SHIELD found out that the Clairvoyant had a daughter and they speculated that daughter might have the same power as her mother. So SHIELD decided to launch a long-term plan plan of kidnapping the daughter and separating her from her mother’s influence. And then recruiting her as an agent in the future to counteract her mother.
This explains why Coulson’s team was sent to recruit Skye rather than arrest her (which Ward and May seem to find an unusual procedure). It explains why Coulson’s team is kept so isolated from the rest of SHIELD (they don’t want the Clairvoyant’s double agents to find out about Skye). It explains why Skye has these amazing hacking powers (she really doesn’t - she’s getting information by her developing clairvoyance without realizing it).
My idea would be a time traveller who’s trying to manipulate events but do it in a subtle enough manner that he doesn’t change history. He wouldn’t want to change the outcome of events he had knowledge of but he’d take advantage of his advance knowledge of those events. He wouldn’t prevent the 9/11 attack (that would change history) but he would short stocks because he’d know the market was going to drop 1370 points after the attack.
Oooooo…
I thought the exact same thing during the scene when she said Skye would be no help to them on the plane.
Not to mention that chin. That cleft is so distracting! Maybe the Clairvoyant is hiding in there.
You left out the satellite phone code word between Skye and Simmons … “Manscaping.”
I’ve been a Clark Gregg fan for a long time. I think he’s always great. Coulson is a terrific role for him.
Have you seen Mr. Popper’s Penguins? He basically plays the Agent Coulson of the Central Park Zoo.
The only other thing I’ve ever seen him in is the final eps of Sports Night, and I remembered him because he acts exactly the same.
The strange thing is he played a recurring character on The West Wing but I don’t remember him on that show.

[li]Did anyone really think May was upset with Skye? The wording of the question made it obvious. I still enjoyed the reveal.[/ul][/li][/QUOTE]
It was obvious to me. I remember going “yeah, yeah, right”.
It’s a silly show. Fortunately, I enjoy watching silly shows sometimes.
LOL, yeah, I had same thought. I tend to roll my eyes every time I see it, try to channel my inner 12-yr-old boy, and fail. Just think of the carbon footprint! Oh well. Like I said, it’s a silly show.
Nah, we dislike her too much already, for her to be a good “surprise” enemy. I’d really lose respect for the writing team if they turn Hand into any kind of enemy agent. She’s far better as the committed in-house enemy due to turf wars.
If they do want to turn her into the enemy, they’d first need to have her do some stuff to garner our sympathy. Wouldn’t that be nauseating?
That’s a big leap for such a little Nemo! I like this hypothesis.
They have flying aircraft carriers. Plural. It’s safe to say they’re not running the things on avgas.
Keep in mind Victoria Hand is an established character from the comic books. So they were kind of stuck with the hair. And the writers on the show can’t go too far into changing her character - so her being a supervillain is unlikely.
But her presence here is a hint of where the show might be going. The comic book series has a long and complicated back-story but there was a period when Nick Fury was ousted as the head of Shield and replaced by Norman Osborn (who is a semi-villain). Many Fury loyalists opposed this but Hand was willing to work for Osborn and later when Osborn was exposed and ousted and Fury took over again, a lot of people didn’t trust Hand. So Hand’s presence in the TV version of Shield may be a hint that similar factions exist here.
