Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D S01E17: Turn, Turn, Turn (open spoilers)

Of course. Simmons falling for Triplett is boringly normal. Watching Fitz react to someone interested in his “sister” is interesting. Especially when he has the capability to build a drone that can fly up your ass and detonate.

Wait…what?

Didn’t Ward basically confirm this with his little “let’s get a beer” speech? And then the subsequent kiss?

Frankly I just want Fitz and Simmons together

Prevert.

The more I think about it, Fitz & Simmons are destined for each other unless Fitz dies, so Triplett (Triple agent?) has to eventually die heroically or be revealed to be a triple quadruple agent around the time we discover Ward is a triple quadruple agent really on the good side. Something like that.

Ixnay. This isn’t a secure line.

I just caught up with this episode. I’d pegged Garrett as the Clairvoyent when he first appeared, but was completely blindsided by the Ward turn. I still think he’s gone undercover to infiltrate HYDRA, and there are two things that makes me think that. First, the look that Ward and Coulson exchange before he boards the plane with Hand and Garrett. The second is the dripping blood on Hand’s wrist at the very end - it looks like it wasn’t coming from her, more like from a squib. I have no idea how to interpret the look on Ward’s face at the very end.

Good episode, have to get out and see Winter Soldier real soon.

I hope they don’t bring Triplett in as a regular simple because he likes Simmons. There is waaaaay too much of this stuff going on in AoS. It’s becoming the new Hollyoaks*. Would be nice if at least one person on the team could have a relationship with someone they don’t work with.

Bring in Deathlok instead

  • Tedious British teen-based soap opera

I thought I had posted this before, but I guess not.

I don’t think Ward is going deep cover; I believe he really is Hydra. My reasoning is that he seems to be working for Hydra before SHIELD is aware that Hydra still exists:

  • He shoots Nash, the fake clairvoyant. Pretty convenient for Hydra.
  • Garrett recommends that Ward be let out of his cell to help.
  • Garrett brings Ward up to speed ("Hand is the Clairvoyant! wink, wink)
  • Ward recommends wiping the files on the bus and then convinces Skye to let him carry the backup drive.

All of this happened before there was any chance to come up with an infiltration plan for Ward.

I just assumed that meant Agent Hill was lower-rank than they were, but now that I think about it, Clark Gregg joked on the Avengers DVD that he wasn’t sure how he felt having Cobie Smulders as a boss… and she seemed to be 2nd in command of the Helicarrier.

This actually jumped out at me. When Garrett came onboard the Bus after the drones got blasted, Coulson enthusiastically declared to him that Hand was the Clairvoyant (without much in the way of proof, mind you). Garrett would not believe it, and offered up multiple defenses of her.

As soon as Ward was let out of the cell and asked what’s up, Garrett’s all, “OMG! Hand is the Clairvoyant! We’ve got to stop her!” Seemed a rather convenient and speedy change of heart, it did. I also thought he exchanged a little look with Ward when he said that.
