Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D S01E19: The Only Light in the Darkness (open spoilers)

I know Acker is part of Whedon’s regular crew. But it would have been more apt if they had cast Jennifer Grey in the role.

What’s weird is how Ward seemingly thinks Skye is buying his story when everything about her acting says “Aaaaaah! Murderer!”

Ward: “Let’s hold hands. We’re in wuv.”

It might be one of those “I know and you know but do you know I know” situations. Skye knows Ward is Hydra. Based on the way she’s acting, Ward probably knows Skye knows. But if Ward tells Skye he knows she knows, she’d panic and then he’d have to knock her out and carry her to the plane and figure out how to get the password from her. Instead, by pretending he’s fooled, he keeps her co-operative.

Except - May’s body, nor lanyard - is on the base. Ward doesn’t know that the lanyards are trackable.

Maybe she gets super powers from having the power sucking stalker explode over her. All that energy has to go somewhere.

Meh. It was dark energy. She’ll go with a Goth look and start playing death metal on the cello.

Exactly. Skye could see that Mae was gone from the base, which is plausible enough to be accepted at face value. She would have shown up on the Marauders Map if she was still there.

We need to get you on their writing team right now.

Illyria returns as a musician? I’m onboard.

That’s what I was thinking!

Not me, one of the worst plot points in Angel.

I think you mean “That’s when Angel redeemed itself for the disaster that was Season 4.”

I can totally see this.

Am I the only one who thinks that both Seasons 4 and 5 of *Angel *were awesome?

starting a letter-writing campaign to get Apocalyptica on the show now…

Nope. Count my wife and I in your club.

I enjoyed the episode more that I was expecting. Skye has become a compelling character. Ward is kind of dull.

I agreed that the Simmons comments about lying a few weeks ago pointed to a possible mole situation, but I dismiss that for meta-story reasons. It would be awful to have a Skye-Ward lovey-dovey Romeo and Juliet situation repeated with Fitz-Simmons. Boring!

I liked The Joy Luck Club reunion at the end.

simFamily as well -

Traditionally in the comics, dark force energy is drawn from the dark force dimension, and characters with dark force superpowers have a tendency to disappear into the dark force dimension as a means of writing them out of a storyline. They then reappear randomly later at the need of subsequent storylines. Blackout, in particular, seems to have had that happen to him rather a lot.

So mark him down as “comic book dead”, rather than “pining for the fjords.”

Well, she drove 500 miles* to get to walking distance from the bunker. That could be Michigan, or it could be Ottawa. Maybe she’s RCMP.

Is there something more Marvell-y that she could be?

(*And now she’ll drive 500 more, just to BE the mom who drove a thousand MILES to be shot down by agent Ward.**)
(**Yeah, the meter sucks.)

She had Pennsylvania license plates though.
