All that could have been solved with a heart monitor dead man switch. He could warn them that even his sleeping heart rate would set it off (he’s a super spy/assassin/athlete. Of course he knows/controls his heart rate precisely).
I wasn’t as interested in the entire Tahiti story line as the show wanted me to be. Just glad it’s over.

We still don’t know who built that mountain facility the blue guy was in. Maybe Coulson remembers now, but hasn’t said yet.
I doubt the larger arc of the alien blood and the unknown city are over. I think they’re going to be slowly introducing the Inhumans via Agents of SHIELD over the next couple seasons.

I thought that was one of Fury’s little black ops - not quite SHIELD, but aligned with them for all we care. The other dirty side of SHIELD.

I’d like to see SWORD on screen. Brand is usually more fun than any SHIELD agents.
Also, Carol Danvers is associated with S.W.O.R.D. , so it might lay the groundwork for the Captain Marvel movie.

It’s unstated which agency May’s mom worked for. SWORD was sorta implied, but it could be any number of agencies. She knows (and likes) Maria Hill, so that’s one data point.
While it might be necessary (or at least highly encouraged) for fans of the TV show to have seen the movies, I’m not sure it’ll work the other way, where understanding a movie means one has to be familiar with episode whatever from season whatever. The movie audience is much more international, for starters.

May’s mom drove 500 miles to pick up May in Ontario after May walked (!) out of Fury’s secret base. Her car’s license plate was from Pennsylvania.
More specifically, May’s mom said she drove 500 miles. This is roughly the distance from, say, Pittsburgh to North Bay.
A close watching shows that Ward never had, nor said he had a dead-man switch. When he showed the detonating device to Bobbi, it was in the off position. He would have had to push the button to make it go boom. That’s why he could seconds later use both hands to get his coat and pack out of the overhead.
