Aglarond needs a few good thoughts

Zy, just talked to Grace. She can’t check her email from work. I sent you her phone number. It should be in your email box.

Jim

I think JimB was going to call/email you with my information but just in case he hasn’t gotten around to it, I sent you an email.

Yeah, Ag and I constituted comic relief just by standing next to each other and doing our impression of the number 10. (I’m shaped kind of like a watermelon and Ag is more like celery.)

Get well soon, buddy. I got all this Shiner Bock in the fridge just waiting for ya.

I am glad he has the support of family and friends. I wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

Get well soon, Aglarond.

First the good news: the mass in his stomach was NOT cancerous.
The not so good news: he’s got Crohn’s disease, but that is manageable although not a good thing.

Grace delivered the flowers, balloons, stuffed dog and few other things to the wrong room. But the old man that was there really enjoyed them.

Actually, for anyone wanting to send anything, he’s been moved to room 433.

Grace said that the plant from Scotticher was beautiful and flowers and balloons from Zyada were great. The dog and balloons were from all of us in the Addams family.

There was something about a six-pack of Shiner Bock from Zyada but I’m not to sure about that. It seems Grace talked about 15 minutes about the updates before she told me I was suppose to be taking notes and post the updates. So, she’ll be along sometime to correct anything I messed up on.

Anyhow, he’s doing ok. Having a good time pushing the button for more morphine.

Hang in there Ag, get better soon,
Jim

How odd - I just read a article in Reuters this week about Crohn’s disease and diet, cause a friend of my mom has it.

Hey, you’ve been married before. I thought you knew the routine.

Aglarond looked a lot better today. He seemed more alert even though he had just gotten morphine before I walked in the room. I said he probably was going to keep holding the button while I was there so he could drown me out.

He has been moved to a private room at the end of the hall. I went to the ‘old’ room first and there was a really old guy sitting up in Ag’s bed. At first I thought they’d given Ag that experimental medicine like they did on HBO’s Oz but then I realized that I probably just had the wrong room.

Everything y’all sent was lovely. There was a big balloon bouquet, another bouquet with a little dog attached, a rather large and heavy dish garden, and I also brought along a bag of books for his mom to read. She’s keeping a list of everything so he’ll know who sent what.

Anyone know how Aglarond is doing today?

I just called and didn’t get an answer. But visiting hours are over at 8:30 so I guess his family is gone for the night. I’ll try again in the morning and post any update I get.

Jim

I tried calling too but there wasn’t an hour. I thought his mom was staying until 10:00 p.m. but she may have gone home early tonight.

(((Aglarond))) We’re thinking about you tonight!

Ummm, that should’ve been…there wasn’t an answer. :frowning:

Ag, I hope this makes its way to you. Good luck with the current travails. I’m looking forward to seeing you up and about again.

Oh, dear. :frowning: I’m home and finally getting to scope out the board, and what do I find? Ag, ill, in the hospital. You came up with some lame excuse for not meeting maidenunicorn and I when we were up in Dallas, so you’ll have to get better soon, so you can meet us the next time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, and your family. If I could drive right up and deliver them in person, I would. Let me know if there is anything I could do for you.

Aglarond ,
I hope you’re feeling better soon. When I was in the hospital following surgery, I read The Straight Dope Returns. I laughed like crazy through the pain, and I think it made me heal faster.

Take care and I hope you’re back on your feet soon!
Zette

Crohn’s Disease can be rough, but it is usually manageable. Have a good friend with it and you’d never know she has it.

Many prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery, Ag.

{{{Ag}}}}

I have Chron’s, (dx last Sept) and yes, it’s not much fun. But I must have missed where Ag was dx’d with this…

From what I saw he had a mass or blockage in his abdomen (intestinal?) that was operated on.

Whatever happened, my best wishes continue to you Aglarond…
*Aenea

I just talked with Ag’s mom. There is not a lot of change in his condition. He’s is getting stronger but is still very weak. He still has the tube in throat so he can’t talk much.

She says he’s not complaining and has a good attitude and making progress but the recovery is a slow process. There is no new expected date of when he will be released.

She sounds like she’s holding up well herself and of course thinks Grace is terrific.

That’s about all I know for now. I asked his mom to pass along that we’re all pulling for him.

Jim

First of all, I am terrific so it stands to reason that she would think so too.

I just got back into the office and before I checked my messages and email, I came to this topic to see if there was an update. I tried calling the hospital a little while ago but the phone was busy. I guess Ag’s mom was talking to Jim.

Blast, I missed the opportunity to say that the reason Ag’s mom thinks that Grace is terrific is because Grace IS terrific!

I know, she already said so, but she said so with smiley. I am saying so because it is true, and no smiley is necessary.

Honey, you rock. And I am so glad that you were willing to pick my humble offering and take it to him.

Grace… One of the best people I know.

And Aglarond, pretty wonderful guy.

And JimB…I don’t know you that well, but you are obviously an entirely caring man.

It must be something in the water down there…
