Ah, the wit and wisdom of apricot syrup.

Yeah, I kept wanting to flame him, but I just kept imagining the creepy little bastard sitting in his parents’ basement masturbating furiously over his threads, felt a little oogy and carried on. Ah, well. Now the opportunity is forever lost.

I wish I was a jew.

I know what you mean.

Wait… huh?

Would “were a jew” be more correct?

OOOOOhhhhhhhh

Well now you’ve put a song in my head:
I wish I was a Lesbian and not a hetero!

I wouldn’t have to deal with men and all their come and go

And all that awful facial hair and yucky machismo…

OHHHHHH

I wish I was a Lesbian and not a hetero!

I think jarbaby wishes that she HAD been a jew. If her wish were to change her current religion, she would have said, “I wish I were a Jew.”

My favorite example of the difference comes from the diaries of Clinton and Gore.

Clinton wrote, “Why, if I was president, was I subjected to such humiliations?”

Gore wrote, “Why, if I were president, I would MAKE her wash the damn dress!”

Oh well, life moves on. Good riddance.

::raises right hand::

Echoing DanielWithrow, I had no idea that calling out a sock was against the rules, nor did I see that anywhere in the FAQs.

Guy was a fuckin’ tool.
Glad he’s gone.

Oooo, he got “BANNED” as opposed to “Banned.” That’s pretty bad.

I was probably not specific enough in my above statement, but the reason I was waiting to see if someone else brought it up first was because I was very unclear as to whether we were allowed to discuss such things amongst ourselves or not. (Unlike the accusing someone of being a troll, which is very explicitly forbidden.)

I don’t think the mods are “stupid”, I just have no idea of their methods and I remain astonished that they have the time to read all the threads, even ones they must find painfully dull (like ones I start! ). More power to ya.

Isn’t a fuckin’ tool the same thing as a meat stick of love?

depends on the relationship

Given that the guy was a tool (but more of a meat stick of hate), I looked at his last few posts and couldn’t quite figure out what was the last straw. What did he do to finally (and thankfully) piss off an admin enough to nab him?

stopped putting out?

With respect to people asking about discussing trolls: IIRC it is not allowed to accuse a specific poster of being a troll or a sock monkey. Furthermore, a month or so ago there was a sticky saying that there was a troll-infestation and we should not talk about them lest we encourage them.

And Coldfire, could you repeat your post again? I couldn’t read the type.

Actually, I think everyone is clear on the rules regarding trolls (well, mostly – I have an unrelated question regarding self-admitted trolls in the sticky at the top of this forum, and patiently await an answer).

The confusion is that Coldfire says calling people sock puppets is verboten, and says it pretty, uh, enthusiastically. Unless a sock puppet is a subspecies of troll, I don’t see anything in the rules against suggesting someone is a sock.

I believe Coldfire that the mods don’t like it – given his vigorous post, I’d be stupid not to believe him. So there’s not really a question here; rather, there’s a request for this point to be clarified in the board posting FAQ, so that posters don’t inadvertantly run afoul of rules they didn’t know existed.

For myself, I see a clear difference between a troll and a sock, and it didn’t occur to me that a rule against calling someone a troll would also cover calling someone a sock. I apologize whether or not I misread the rules; I apologize a lot more if I misread.

Would any mod be kind enough to stick this in the FAQ?

Daniel

Aww, hellfire. One of these days I’ll learn to log burundi out before I start reading the SDMB.

Mea culpa again.
Daniel

IANAMod, but I think the rules prohibit casting any aspersions as to why and how someone registered. That’s their province, and they don’t like us second-guessing them out in public.

No reason that shouldn’t be clarified, though.
