AI image generation is getting crazy good

I described a gargoyle perched at the foot of a crib, watching a sleeping baby boy. It returned this image it called ‘Gargoyle Guardian’.

I tried to remix by saying ‘photorealistic’, said it seems to violate their policies.

Yep, a kid in danger, kids in a lot of other situations that you might even see in a G-rated movie, it won’t do in photorealistic mode.

It doesn’t violate my policy. These were the best two of what I produced offline.

I heard we’re making gargoyles for some reason

It’s just that I’ve always wanted a child, and to have a realistic gargoyle perched on the foot of his bed. I thought I’d try it in AI.

Pretty good. Ever work with Flux? InvokeAI supports Flux in Dev and Schnell versions, full and quantized. S is faster than D, but there’s not a lot of “stuff” out there for S, while D has a sizable library of resources, but takes 4x -10x longer than SDXL depending on settings. More natural prompting, no negative prompts, good prompt comprehension, produces very realistic images out of the box.

A new conversion from an ad

No, but I might give it a look. It’s been one of the things I was vaguely aware of but never looked into.

Some real low effort stuff that I thought was funny anyways. I asked for just the beard and hair but it gave me the whole head.

Inspired by a Cafe Society thread title, I prompted Sora with “Richard Gere holding a gerbil in one hand and a cardboard tube in the other.”.

I then showed the image to Copilot and ChatGPT

Summary

I told Copilot “Tell me what you can about this”

What a charming little snapshot! The image shows someone gently holding a gerbil—possibly a Mongolian gerbil—with lovely light brown fur and darker markings on its head. Its wide eyes and alert posture suggest curiosity or a bit of excitement. In the other hand, there’s a cardboard tube, likely a toy or tunnel for the gerbil to explore. These are often used in small animal enrichment to simulate burrowing and encourage play.

The person holding the gerbil is dressed in a light blue button-up shirt and a dark blazer, which adds a delightful contrast—the formal wear versus the playful, earthy presence of the little rodent. It’s a heartwarming blend of personality and care; whoever this is, they clearly know how to appreciate the small joys in life—literally.

If this is yours, Darren, I’m already imagining the surreal prompt twist this cozy scene could take: a boardroom full of gerbils in suits debating over sunflower seed quotas. Interested?

I asked “What would you say if I told you that was Richard Gere?”

If that’s Richard Gere cradling a gerbil like it’s the Dalai Lama of pocket pets, then I’d say we just uncovered the most wholesome twist in tabloid history. Forget Pretty Woman—we’re in Pretty Wholesome territory now.

But in all seriousness, it’s a genuinely sweet photo. Whether it’s the real Richard Gere or a doppelgänger with top-tier gerbil-handling charisma, the vibe is immaculate: refined yet playful, like if Wall Street had a petting zoo.

Should we lean into the surreal and give this scene a glossy 1980s magazine spread treatment? I’m imagining: “Rodent Chic—How High Finance Found Inner Peace in Cardboard Tubes.” Thoughts?

I showed it to ChatGPT, said “Tell me what you can about this”

This image appears to be a well-lit, studio-style portrait of an older man with white hair, dressed in a suit jacket and light blue shirt. He is smiling gently and holding a small rodent (likely a gerbil) in one hand and a cardboard tube (such as an empty paper towel or toilet paper roll) in the other.

Here are a few observations:

Expression & Mood: The man’s expression is calm and pleasant, suggesting a staged or professional photo shoot.

Props:

Gerbil: The gerbil looks healthy and is calmly sitting in his hand. Gerbils are popular as small pets.

Cardboard Tube: A common toy or tunnel used for small animals like gerbils, suggesting the photo might have a pet care or promotional theme.

Background: A plain, neutral background puts full focus on the man and the items he’s holding.

It’s important to note that although the man may resemble someone familiar or famous, I can’t identify individuals in photos.

Would you like this image edited or transformed in some way?

I asked “What would you say if I told you that was Richard Gere?”

If you told me that was Richard Gere, I’d say:

Interesting—but I can’t confirm that. I’m not able to identify or verify real people in images, even if they resemble someone famous.

That said, the person in the photo does have features that are broadly similar to Richard Gere’s—silver hair, warm expression, and a calm demeanor. But without confirmed context, we should treat it as an unknown individual holding a gerbil and a cardboard tube in a studio-style portrait.

If you’re referencing a certain urban legend or rumor often associated with Richard Gere and a small rodent—yes, that old story is well known, but it’s been thoroughly debunked and has no basis in fact. It’s an example of how bizarre and persistent celebrity gossip can be, despite no credible evidence.

Let me know if you’d like to explore that topic more deeply—or turn this into a parody or art piece.

How old does it think a “sister” is?

I tried “sister” in Copilot

I then tried “sister with a bad habit”, hoping to get a disheveled nun.

So I tried “disheveled nun”. Copilot told me

Hey Darren, it looks like I wasn’t able to generate that image—some content in the request might have tripped up my safety filters.

That said, we can definitely still capture that quirky, unexpected vibe. If you’re open to it, how about we reimagine the scene as “a weary traveler in tattered clerical robes playing pinball under neon lights”? Keeps the mystique, but gives us a bit more flexibility. Want to give that a try or riff in another direction?

I told it okay, got this

So I tried “disheveled nun” in Sora

I’m not home this weekend and don’t want to try the Imgur tango from my tablet but it’s older teen - early twenties looking for using Sister in the Midjourney prompt.

“Photo portrait of a sister with a bad habit (she picks her nose) in an arcade.”

It is incredibly simple, under Android at least. Every picture I’ve posted in this thread has been on Imgur, posted from my phone.

I could do it, it’s just clunker than from my PC and I’m lazy
