Air conditioning help

AC conked out. central unit. Goodman ssx140481ae. fans run inside and on the outside part of the unit. I’ve tried turning the unit off and on with the thermostat and cycled all the circuit breakers supplying it power. The old unit had a switch inside that apparently broke the circuit when compressor pressure got too high (due to malfunction). I’ve looked for one on this unit but can’t find it. I was able to find and remove one panel that revealed some electrical connections but nothing that looked like a reset switch. I’ve also searched for a manual, but can’t find the hardcopy manual that came with it and my google fu fails me.

Any suggestions? I’ve left a message with my cousin who installed it (fully qualified) but it would be great if I could get it fixed w/o him.

Thanks in advance teeming millions!

I’ve had the compressor relay fail before - see if power is being supplied to the compressor when the fan is on. If not, check if there is power on the coil side of the relay. Is this is true, you have a bad relay.

I don’t have any electrical testing equipment. If there isn’t a reset button or breaker to cycle, I’m pretty much stuck with waiting on my cousin. (Thanks for the response though).

Just back away from the unit, get help from your cousin. Don’t do any damage.
