Air Force Uber Alles!

While the Air Force is in the habit of changing its slogan more often than I change my socks (I mean, GEEZ, our squadron just replaced the badass early 90’s “Aim High” logo with a “Cross Into The Blue” logo on the main building!), I suggest these for fitting Air Force Slogans:

Nobody’s BDU Ironing Comes Close
Because Chicks Dig A Guy In Uniform
Its Almost Like Joining The Military (ducks :D)

That’s the sort of analysis Paris Hilton would come up with. Just because, to quote Cecil Himself, “people today have the historical awareness of tree squirrels,” doesn’t mean Airman Doors and other students of history don’t have a good point.

(1) Nope. Nopitty-nope. The way the Nazi swastika is usually seen is the same direction that the Hindu one is usually seen. Hindus and Buddhists do use them in both directions.

(2) The swastika was used in European culture too. Hitler didn’t have to “take” it from the Hindus.

I minored in history and am well aware of the references mentioned. I was also career military, so my frame of reference comes from that background, rather than from one where people like you are just looking for a reason to be horrified. If you wish to swoon over every perceived slight, and flap your hands and shriek over some tenuous Hitler connection, that’s your option, but not everyone is going to see it that way. And fuck you and your ‘Paris Hilton’ snobbery, you sanctimonious prick.

<cough >

:wink:

Yeah, because I’m a spy. Or a Nazi. Or a gay undertaker. Or…uh…what people am I like, exactly?

IMHO it’s not a tenuous Hitler connection so much as it is a stupidly obvious Hitler connection…and not an inspiring slogan, even without that.

PS: And you don’t think Paris Hilton associates “flying planes” with “above”? I’d guess she does. :slight_smile:

I always liked Rittmeister. It has that cool Red Baron feel to it.

I wish the slogan was “The Air Force: Crapping On Everyone From a Great Height”.

Either that or steal the Olympics’ Latin slogan, “Citius, Altus, Fortius” (Swifter, Higher, Stronger).

In the thirties the NAZIS had a slogan "Hitler over Germany"on a poster showing Adolf with a fleet of aircraft in the sky above him.
