Airfix Dogfighter

Let me just say, I love this game. It is one of my all-time favorites. The premise is that you get to fly little model WW2 airplanes around a house, and engage in dogfights and other missions against the enemy. It’s all done as if it’s occurring in a little boy’s imagination - so you’ll find submarines in the bathtub and areas like “Pinky Hill” (sister’s bedroom). It is written for children but some of the missions are challenging enough that an adult with have fun playing them.

It seems to have been written by a company called Ion Storm; I’d really like to find anything else they’ve written. I did try “Army Men” once - same sort of genre - but it didn’t have the character that Dogfighter does.

I see this game is available for $0.01 on Amazon (!) - I would recommend anyone buy it, if only as a donation for this wonderful little game.

Does anyone know whatever happened to the developers, and if they’ve written anything else?

I remember a game for Dreamcast with a similar premise. But it wasn’t limited to planes. You’d do missions using all sorts of different toys with different locations around the house. I recall one mission where the boss was obviously meant to be a transformer type toy.

You’re a little mixed up. Airfix Dogfighter was published by Eon Digital and developed by Unique Development Studios; Ion Storm is a completely different game company.

For what it’s worth, the above link also links to pages for the publisher and developer which lists additional titles and there’s a “you may also like” section at the bottom of the page.

Can’t get it to run on mine, though I’ll admit I haven’t tried real hard.

I just checked out the screenshots at Gamespot. Anyone else think that EA/Maxis should license the game for use with The Sims 2?
