My husband and I are going to Scotland for our vacation this fall, and I’m looking at airline tickets. The cheapest available are from Continental, or we could fly IcelandAir or American for around $100/ticket more. Any experiences with these airlines? How’s the service? Will they still all be in business by September?
Continental’s as good as any airliner. Moderate service, lousy food, and -depending on the plane you fly- reasonably OK seats. Most of the time, their transatlantic flights are with 757’s using a good seating configuration, and a personal entertainment set a la Singapore Airlines. Plus, Continental’s fleet is the youngest in America.
No experience with Icelandair (I hear it’s good), but I’d take Continental over American anyday.
As for their state of business in September, who’s to say, really?
