Al Pacino hosts $200 a person one night show about his life. Have other stars done this?

I don’t think Al Pacino needs money so it’s a bit odd to see him doing a one man, one night paid Las Vegas show about his life like this. He’s still a huge star with a big reputation, this is (IMO) like something some desperate for cash faded star might do.

Las Vegas: Al Pacino to bring one-man show to the Mirage

That sounds cool. If I was in Vegas, I would spring for it. If I was up at the tables, I might even go for the VIP package.

I don’t know you’d figure that someone with a net worth of 135 million dollarsand a huge artistic reputation would be hosting show like this for free to film students or something. But… it’s his life, it’s Las Vegas …make some money from the superfans. More power to him I guess.

Elaine Stritch at Liberty.

I’ve known people who do this for free, although not on stage.

I think it ended up only being one show, but Charlie Sheet did this during that mess when he stomped off of Two and a Half Men.

Sheen was always 3 sheets in the wind.

I believe near the end of his life, Cary Grant did a tour where he discussed his career and took questions with fans. However, he didn’t charge the equivalent of $200 for the show and venues were mainly college auditoriums. I wonder if anybody videotaped any of the shows?
